AFTER SEEING LIONS AND ELEPHANTS, SP HEAD FOR FINAL SOUTH AFRICA SHOW
Posted by Pat
This week is really going by fast, seems like we just got here yesterday and we're already leaving tomorrow. The Durban show was another good one and this time we got to stay and watch Metallica, definately a great time. Between the Durban show and today's Cape Town show was a little bit of down time, so band and crew all drove a few hours into the Savana for an amazing Safari. I can't describe how amazing the experience was so I won't even try, but as soon as we all get back home, I'll work on some stuff to show you. UN-REAL! Thanks to Andrew and Chris for driving and showing us around and for making sure that the cheetah's didnt kill us.

Today, the guys are back in Cape Town for the last of 3 shows down here. Weather is superb and show promises to be great. Unfortunately this all ends tomorrow and we have to brave the 30 hours plus travel day again... Might seem like a long way but trust me, totally worth it...

SOUTH AFRICA PART 2: JOBURG SHOW ROCKS, SP VISIT CAPE TOWN
Posted by Pat
So it was the first show for SP in South Africa, so know one really knew what to expect. A little nervous, the guys hit the stage in front of over 43,000 fans and rocked it out. Reaction was amazing and the guys killed it. Even some of the Metallica guys came by the side of the stage to check it out, unreal! After a cool after party the guys had 2 days in front of them before the next show, so we flew to Cape Town which is, I have to say, one of the coolest cities I've ever been to. We did a lot of sight seeing and got to learn a lot about the culture, the sights and the history. Today, we flew to Durban where the second show is at today. The guys just checked into the hotel and we have an hour time off before press starts, so I figured I'd keep you in the loop of things. Oh, I've also taped a few segments for another SP Vlog, so as soon as I get that into my computer and edited into a cinematographic gem, it's coming your way. Until then...

SIMPLE PLAN ARRIVES IN SOUTH AFRICA
Posted by Pat
It was a long travel day (over 30 hours), but the guys arrived safely in South Africa a few hours ago, where they are playing for the first time. Today wasn't much of a sightseeing day: The boys landed in Johannesburg, drove to their hotel and pretty much just did some interviews and a press conference to meet all the nice South Africa journalists. Then, when all the work part was done, the boys and I sat down at the lobby bar to have a drink when none other than James Hetfield and Rob Trujillo from Metallica came to join everyone for a chat. Those guys were nicer than the pope and it was awesome meeting them. Things are definately off to a great start over here and there is so much more to come. The boys will be playing these three festival shows that promise to be awesome and we're even going on a Safari. Lots more reports from SA, and possibly pictures of David petting a lion, all coming soon!

SIMPLE PLAN LAUNCHES FOUNDATION
Posted by Pat
On the eve of their biggest show ever, in their hometown of Montreal, Simple Plan have announced the launch of the Simple Plan Foundation, a charitable organization that will devote time and energy to raise money to help teenagers in need. The foundation will focus on young teens dealing with the hardships of growing up: drug addiction, poverty, depression, suicide, and other struggles. It will also donate funds to various medical and social organizations that care for sick children, and promote music education as a way for kids to find a passion and direction in life.
